I'd be thinking something along the lines of 'raped and pillaged' instead of something so tame and academic-sounding. Mediaesque would probably be the word supporters of the idea would use.
Is this something like an adjective for 'commercialisation'?

I got an assignment back for a Finance paper and the PHD professor's only constructive feedback was to "tone my work down, it is a tad mediaesque". I don't know whether I should be pleased or upset! :)
